Laboratory Staff

TSUTSUMI Ryoko
Born in Tokyo, Tsutsumi graduated from the Doctoral Degree Course of the graduate School of Tama Art University in 2015.
Tsutsumi’s research focuses on the outdoor space of houses, “Niwa”, designed by their dwellers. In her research, she explores their design processes and the actual conditions of such spaces in Japan.
Tsutsumi is also a member of the board of the Japan Society for Folk Architecture (JASFA).
KANAI Manabu
Kanai is a visual artist born in Tokyo, 1983. He earned his Ph.D. in 2015 at Tokyo University of the Arts.
While regarding art practice, from the point of view through a lens of the philosophy of technology, as the techniques for inventing forms of presentness, his current interdisciplinary research explores the idea of “trans-presentness”.
CHEN Pengyu
Born in Taipei city in TAIWAN. Graduated from the Doctoral Degree Course of the Graduate School of Comprehensive Art and Design, University of Tsukuba, in 2017.CHNE’s research subject is the Impact of Paper Characteristics Toward Painting Techniques in Ink Painting. She belongs to SOGA-kai association of Japanese painting.
