Mizuko Yamada’s raised hollowware and sculptural jewelry in silver incorporates the abstract and architectural forms of a Terry Winters painting, the fluidity of a cell dividing, and the strange beauty of an orchid. This wide range of botanical, biological, and architectural influences comes gracefully together in Yamada’s smooth, hammer-raised silver forms. Yamada was born into a family of metalsmiths, and her natural affinity for the material is evident in her elegant work.
