Team Kaili x Yukiko - Bringing Traditional Festival Light to Everyday Life
Post-Midterm Statement of Intent: In the old Japanese house, there are many places you can connect to the nature. Tokonoma, for example, is a designed space in the formal room which can be decorated with season change or holiday. It is the way how japanese bring the joy and emotion for nature or festivals to everyday life. However, people in the city have lost such connection with nature or festival anymore. Our idea is design some wearable products which can also create such environment in daily life.

Team Definition of Sustainability: 1. Reconnecting humans and nature by embrace festial light. 2. Improving light quality of Eco-friendly light product.

Lighthouse - Every Object Deserves a Second Chance

Post-Midterm Statement of Intent: Living in a fast pace urban environment people tend to neglect the importance and value of everyday objects. With no appreciation, life for those objects become shorter than what they actually could be. Umbrella is one of the objects that people dont pay much attention to. They are always discarded and ignored when there is no rain. Our objective is to give umbrella more chances in our everyday life. Some of the possibilities may include creating a landscape, a light fixture, and a personal light. Afterall, we believe creating a good relationship between users and objects will help us to appreciate more.

Team Definition of Sustainability: Appreciation is the first step toward sustainability
