Pacific Rim project | 多摩美術大学とアートセンター（米国）の共同研究

12月16日、Pacific Rim 6の最終講評会が行われました。

講評会にはクラスの講師の他、環境デザイン学科長のDavid, CMTELのスタッフ,さらに過去のRimの講師など多くのアートセンターの先生が出席されました。

また日本からはプロダクト学科長の和田先生、国際交流室の竹中さん、共通教育の池崎先生が、さらにゲストとして在ロサンゼルス日本総領事館の伊原純一氏も来校され、日本とアメリカの高齢化問題について話されました。

ACCD: Brandon, Ju　TAMA: Kaho, Koichiro

ハレはベビーブーマーのための総合ガーデニング施設です。ガーデニングを中心にそれらに関連した青空市場や、クラス等を行っています。
HARE is a general gardening environment for Babyboomers. We provide Farmers Market and classes related to gardening.

ACCD: Alexander, Echo,Mariya　TAMA: Minami, Nozomi

TEKIOは、agingしても自宅で生活し続けられるようにヘルスサポートするプロダクトとシステムの提案をしました。

TEKIO suggested some products and system for boomer because they would be better to keep living in their house if they have age.

ACCD: Dami, Virrj　TAMA: Akinori, Hyojoo, Yuri

Viveは健康や幸福を目的とした移動トラック式の料理教室です。ブーマーのコミュニケーションを促すためのテーブルやテーブルクロスなど様々なプロダクトを提案しました。
Vive ‘s  cooking class is intended to track mobile for health and happiness. We proposed tables and tablecloths and various other products to facilitate the communication for Boomers.

ACCD: Joey,Sunjin　TAMA: Ayumi, Hyunah, Yuki

エンパワード・ジャーニーは高齢者やその家族の豊かな生活を支援する施設です。ここでは言語の教室やヨガ教室等様々な活動を行う事が出来ます。

Empowered Journey is a place which supports baby boomers and the family’s rich life. They can do the various activities like the language classroom and classes in yoga etc

Hello, its week 13 and our final presentation is coming soon.

It took us so much time and energy to come this far.

こんにちは。あと少しで最終講評会です。

ここまで来るのに多くの苦難を乗り越えてきました。

No more time, beyond the point of no return, we rush to finish our small booth.

時間が過ぎていく中、講評用のブースを作るために私たちは急ぎます。

The corridors are totally flooded with tools and junk.

Some of us rested in this place so we don`t get in the way.

通路は沢山の道具とゴミで溢れています。

邪魔にならないようこの中で休憩を取る人が何人もいました。

Little by little, we are getting the job done.

The final starts tomorrow at 2:30, can`t believe its almost over.

ちょっとずつですが、全体的にファイナルへ向かっています。

明日の14:30に最終好評です。あと少しで終わりだなんて信じられません。

こんにちは！

Week13 is before final week! So we were preparing for final presentation hardly.

We painted, and decorated the wall.

ファイナルプレゼンテーションまであと一週間となりました！迫るプレゼンに向けて準備を進めていきます。

それぞれ与えられた壁をアレンジする為に各班色を塗り、その上から装飾をしていきました。

This group will project the movie onto the wall with a projector.

この班はプロジェクターを使って壁に映像を映し出します。その為の調整をしている最中です。

Next week is final! Serious atmosphere continues.

泣いても笑ってもあと一週間。ピリピリした雰囲気は続きます。

This week is WEEK12,Prof Kishimoto (environment design) and Prof Minato(information design) came ACC.

WEEK12、今週は環境デザイン学科岸本先生と情報デザイン学科港先生がACCDにいらっしゃいました。

He gave us some advice which is how does the senior citizen decline senses.

Those were very helpful for us.

岸本先生からは、年を取るとどのように視覚や聴覚が変化するのかをレクチャーしてしただきました。みんなとても参考になったようです。

Some professor in Tama came ACCD,

it made us encourage.

多摩より幾人かの先生がいらっしゃって、私たちはとても励みになっています。

こんにちは！大森ゆりです。

This week, we went to the black church with professor Ikezaki and Jacki Apple.

今週私たちは池崎先生とジャッキーと一緒にアフリカ系アメリカ人の教会に行きました。

We dressed up. Because if we did, it meant respect.

私たちは正装しました。なぜならもしそうしたら、それは尊敬を意味するからです。

But the ceremony was more casual than the other church.

しかし、その儀式は他の教会よりももっとカジュアルなものでした。

we could hear gospel. Singer was the black children.It was so amazing.

私たちはゴスペルを聞くことができました。歌い手は黒人の子どもたしでした。

それは本当に驚くべきものでした。

We heard their speech.

私たちは演説を聞きました。

They lived hared tines.

But now is different. They keep going better way.

彼らは厳しい時代を生きて来た。でも今は違います。彼らは良い方向に進んでいます。

We had a good time.

私たちは良い時間を過ごせました！

Hi, everyone.

It’s week11. There are only 3 weeks left until final.

Time is tooooooo fast.

Professor Yoshio Ikezaki and Professor Jackie Apple came our class for some notice today.

They would like to invite us to a unique Los Angeles cultural and spiritual experience.

The Famous First African Methodist Episcopal Church(First AME church) where they would like to take us all is biggest church in Los Angeles. We can experience their culture and nice gospel.

The class room is messy because everyone started to make a lot of mock-up.

With our mock-ups, we discussed and thought about not only design but also materials, mechanism.

We were trying to put many different kind of material in our design.

Our group vive took away all stuff from the wall.

We will start making a new wall for final presentation.

We should start making real design stuffs for final presentation.

There is thanksgiving holiday on this week.

After long holiday, we will be busy more and more than now.

Hi,everyone!

On Friday we had a class of  prototype.

After we finished midterm we started to make new product.

Today we learned way to use of CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled).

皆さんこんにちは。

金曜日はプロトタイプの授業の日です。

中間講評を終えて、新しいプロダクトを作り始めました。

今日はCNCを使った授業でした。

This is CNC machine.

With our SolidWorks file, we can make it real model by it.

これがCNCという機械です。

SolidWorks で作ったファイルをもとに、この機械を使って実際に模型削り出すことができます。

And then we made a mold of model by using another machine.

その後、他の機械を使いモデルの型をとりました。

After that we poured plaster into molds which we made.

そして、それぞれの型の中に石膏を流しました。

Everyone looked enjoy this class.

We can learn and experience  something new  in this class, so we work earnestly.

We are looking forward to seeing final presentation each other.

みんなとても楽しんでいる様子でした。

この授業では毎回新しいことを学び、経験することができるので、

みんな真剣に取り組んでいます。

最終プレゼンテーションを見るのがお互い楽しみです。

Hi,I’m sorry for being late with updating.

Professor Hamada and Yamamoto came here in 15th and they participated in TAMA TDS on Thursday.

Now is already week 10. We have only 4 weeks by final presentation,so each group started working on mock-up these days.

We’re making furniture,tools,model,website and fabric. Each group have unique ideas,so we’re looking forward to seeing those each other at final presentation.

Tama member spent a lot of  time with the 2 professors this week. They was having dinner with us nearly everyday and talking about recent situation and ideas. It was very helpful to Tama member and Our brain was organized.

We’d appreciate it so much.

Prof Kishimoto and Minato is coming from environment and information design department next. We expect that we can share the other point of view.

水曜日、今日はブランディング戦略の授業です。

今日から来週までの課題はそれぞれのグループの「ブランドバイブル」を作ること。ブランドバイブルとは、企業ブランドの意義や事業、ビジョンを形にしたものです。文章だと難しいですが、つまりはブランドのイメージを本にしたものです。

Wednesday, Today is a class of branding strategy.  This week’s subject  is making “Brand Bible” for each group. Brand bible is significance of corporate brand and business and vision.

例えば、これはリーバイスのブランドバイブルです。グラフィックや写真などのイメージを構成することで、リーバイスがどういったブランドかを知る事ができますね。

For example, this is  Brand bible of Levi’s. By configuring the graphic images and photos, We can know what the Levi’s brand.

こちらは先生が見せてくださった、学生の作ったブランドバイブルです。かっこいいですね。

This is student’s work from another Sherry’s class. Yes, It’s so cool. I thought it can be use portfolio.

ロゴを作って何となく会社気分♬　には留まらず、自分たちのブランドとしてどのようにイメージを保つか。どう表現すれば周りの人は自分たちのプロジェクトを理解してくれるか。色々な側面からグループの意義を考えさせることからも、アートセンターのプロフェッショナルの高さを思い知らされました。美大生にブランディング戦略など関係がないように思ってましたが、実は自分の課題を進める上でもブランドの存在はとても重要です。そこに気付けたことだけでも貴重な体験だなと思いました。
